I really must comment on Mark Fishers article. As is apparent from
the article he is a reasonable writer and one would assume of reasonable intelligence. That said
the comment that the BNP should be ignored because for now at least - because the capitalist class
has no need for the BNP and thus the BNP will remain peripheral is an analysis beyond grotesque.
It shows no understanding that the real danger of euro-nationalism is contained in its ability
to build from the bottom 30% of the working class - UP! In the process replacing the left there,
as they have across Europe without exception, something incidentally 'Shaping the future' predicted
would also happen here - and now has.
Without any opposition on the ground the BNP can present itself as the champion
of the working class, which is why at the RWB Griffin declared the BNP the only socialist party
left.
As the left is characteised by a shameless duplicity much of the time it is hard to know if Fisher's remarks are as a result of genuine ignorance or simply a justification for a decade of CPGB denial? Either way the lack of honesty is damning.
