Two excellent points here. From a humanist point of view, (i.e., leaving God out of it)Islam represents another way of experiencing the world, and should be respected, if not celebrated. I am uplifted by the way many of these people have no time for modern Western lifestyle and attitudes. Secondly, Socialism has got no hope up against the deeply held beliefs of the Muslim community, because, unlike islam, it has no Messianic vision, Socialism does not offer us a glimpse into the transcendent, like religious convictions do.
