Commission of Racial Equality chairman Gurbux Singh in Observer interview 21/7/02

Britain is years away from voting in a black or Asian prime minister, he complained to one interviewer this year, "I wonder whether we would actually get a Colin Powell" he has said. If he feels that having a black or asian prime minister is the only way for equality and is happy to have a Colin Powell then surely were really up shit creek.
