Whilst I agree with almost all you say in the case of " labourers...do not fight their enemies but the enemies of their enemies " In the specific case of England ( or if you must Great Britain ) this does not match history. The Aristocracy were never removed as they were in other countries. Their power games are still being played today. What hapened in Britain was that the Aristocracy became intergrated with the bourgeoise they did not replace them. Even tody how many captains of industry are peers of the realm? Not mention ther influence in the armed forces & secret service. I can't remember the exact quote but this is explained in a book called " The Great Arch ".Even in all post-war governments there has been a large Aristcratic element. If not a majority then at least a sizable & influencial minority. If the absolute monarchy is our enemy's enemy, why support Republicanism? ( & we know the detrimental effect of English landowners & Lords in meddling in Irishaffairs! )I realize this is not doctrinaire Marxism but I am far from a doctrinaire Marxist.
