The unit had to 'stood down' as a public admission of the mishap. You cant shoot Volunteers for mistakes, because who's going to fucking join that army? answer- no one. you dont punish zeal and enthusiasm. oh and btw, the target was a udr patrol that passed close to the wall of the reading room, and a faulty timer, or BA scanners, detted the device.
