Noel- please explain how Eniskillen was sectarian, was the British army not the target? Enniskillen was however a massive set back for the movement because the target could not have been hit without far too many civilian casualties. It was a mistake, probably borne out of the huge anger felt that week when the movement was not allowed to bury a volunteer and the coffin was fought over at the church etc etc. However it should never have happened and republicans feel genuine remorse for actions such as that, actions which caused unneccessary suffering. Gery A says in his biography that he came close to resigning over it, I know he circulated every cummann asking people to contact the army locally to let them know how they felt about such actions, how they set the movement back. But sectarian no Im sorry but it shouldnt be used in that way, to denegrate the movement by drawing paralells with loyalist sectarianism.
