"Dear Minister,
It is with pleasure I present my Annual Report on An Garda Sochna for I999.
The incidence of reported indictable crime continued its downward trend. This reflects the dedication, commitment and professionalism of members of An Garda Sochna, and Gardacivilian staff, working with other State agencies and with the
support of the community. The endeavour of all concerned is sincerely appreciated.
In comparison with I998, a 5% decrease was recorded and, since I995, a 2I% decrease overall has been attained."

So, what can be said Daly Mail reader, but that you are totally wrong. If indeed it was a mistake, if not then you're just a liar.

On another point, there's a lot of people, like Kirwan, who seem obsessed with immigration and speak about it in the tone of 'they're getting everything and we should look after our won first.' Not one person whom I've heard or read of this opinion has been active in the fight against a corrut Irish establishment whose venality has been there for all to say, and on Tribunal records, for over a decade.

Why should we listen to you now?

This is not to say that there are not real problems which arise in the way which immigration is dealt with. No wool over the eyes. But that is a seperate matter.

"This concrete political and social ideal will best be supplied, I believe, by the frank acceptance on the part of ail earnest nationalists of the Republic as their goal.

Not a Republic, as in France, where a capitalist monarchy with an elective head parodies the constitutional abortions of England, and in open alliance with the Muscovite despotism brazenly flaunts its apostasy to the traditions of the Revolution.

Not a Republic as in the United States, where the power of the purse has established a new tyranny under the forms of freedom; where, one hundred years after the feet of the last British red-coat polluted the streets of Boston, British landlords and financiers impose upon American citizens a servitude compared with which the tax of pre-Revolution days was a mere trifle.

No! the Republic I would wish our fellow-countrymen to set before them as their ideal should be of such a character that the mere mention of its name would at all times serve as a beacon-light to the oppressed of every land, at all times holding forth promise of freedom and plenteousness as the reward of their efforts on its behalf.
