My thoery on World Wars is this:

1914-1918 was the Second World War (bear with me)

1939-1945 was the Third World War

1945 -1989 was the fourth worrld war - the cold war seen as an economic war between two halves of the developed world

therefore we are missing a first world war. because it has been going on behind ur backs and in front of our faces. Not at Verdun or Kursk, but on the streets and in the boardrooms. The firsat world war is 'war on the poor'. Its been going on since the dawn of money, since the first bully/oppressor/exploiter. And there are two possible outcomes: the bully will win, and we will collectively lose all independence, all knowledge that we are being oppressed.

the second outcome is that we will overthrow the 'New world order'. As socialists this is the end result, the sum of all we believe in. whether you are a member of this part yor that, whether you follow this leader or that, we have a common goal. I'm not going to say that it's happening tomorrow, or even in 100 years time. I don't even know if we'll win - but we've got to give it a go. I once read a quote that has stayed with me through every downfall and disaster:

' just as it is not your duty to finish the struggle, it is not your right toi withdraw from it'

The events and the plans perpetrated recently by the global alliance of capitalism does not need debate amongst them. Once a system is of sufficient sophistication, it acquires a semi-sentience. becasue the system rewards those inside it, these same people act to perpetuate the existence of the system - by crushing oipposition to it.

the 'war on the poor' has primarily been fought economically and ideologically. That needs no explanation. However, it has been fought militarily by both sides, for example one can view the IRA as a 'small' representation of military socialism. however, one important thing to realise is that the so-called 'communists' and 'socialists' who follow stalin, Mao or Lenin are merely capitalists in a different guise - like a rival company, they seek not to change the system rather to dominate it themselves, not to emancipate the mass, but to enrich the few.

I draw no conclusions from my ideas. I leave that to those wiser than I am.
