I would like to congratulate you for the analysis on the Newspage on what *may* happen as a result of the World Trade Centre bomb.

What RA presented last week though short, was an an *attempt* at analysis. This is in sharp contrast to the vapouring of the whole socialist left on the UK left site.

First what they are concerned about is being seen to support/condemn ie 'picking sides', smothered as is usual in touchy-feely subjectives that follow every atrocity. But what the entire Left apparently lack is the courage or the ability to *project*, which any real understanding of basic politics should allow.

Though I haven't looked since, they will I suspect
now be constructing some liberal anti-war pact similar to which followed the Gulf, Falklands etc.

Again this is essentially an apolitical approach dominated by picking sides but not of course with a view to doing anything concrete. An excercise as worthwhile as some football expert in the pub insisting "David Beckham is overrated".

While it is an opinion and it may or may not be correct it has no value in itself as a)he will never be tested on it in reality (which is to say he will never be Man Utd manager) and b) it costs him nothing to hold it such an opinion.

Ditto the UK Left. People like Mr - 'more terrorism' - Boulton are in my eyes being the opposite side of the Lefty argument just as contemptible for the same reasons.

Finally let me say that from developments in the Middle east since the RA prophecy last week that it might possibly be Israel rather than Afghanistan that has 'more to worry about'. So not only are you brave but you may also be proved correct. Everyone of course hates clever bastards! Best wishes in May 2002.
