Real IRA media lies

After the newspage item questioning a number of facets of the media reporting (see Desperate Times...) the Observer reported on Sunday that far from Ealing potentially being another Omagh which killed 28 people:
* CCTV footage show a man only yards away from the the blast who was not blown off his feet.
* there wa sdamage to shop-fronts and domestic windows but no structural damage:
*The spectacular fire suggests this was a small device combined with alarge amount of petrol: *nobody suffered damaged eardrums;

The report concludes that the Ealing bomb was deliberately "planted to be caught on CCTV for maximum propaganda value".

But as the RA piece asked, given the timing who was *intended* to be the beneficiary?
Hard to argue nationalism might have profited or was enhanced.
Unionists politicians made hay, but it is unlikely sympathy for Unionists would have engineered all the front page headlines and editorails along the 'Bombers are Back' line - even in the Sun!
