Re- Three reasons to spoil your vote -
IRSP

The Irish Republican Socialist Party have
called on supporters to spoil their votes
on polling day in support for three
principles, 1/ political status for political
prisoners, 2/ An end to sectarian politics,
3/ support for Turkish political prisoners
currently on hunger strike.

Ard Comhairle spokesperson Paul little
said following this weeks Ard comhairle
meeting;
The IRSP have considered the options
for its supporters in the upcoming
elections long and hard and it is with
regret that we have to advise that the only
practical action for republicans and
socialists to take is to spoil their vote.

There are currently a number of political
prisoners being held in British jails, no
political party standing in the elections is
supporting their right to political status.

Since the signing of the Good Friday
Agreement sectarianism and sectarian
attacks have increased ten fold, there are
more people living in fear now than at any
time in the past 30 years, all the
mainstream political parties are playing
the sectarian card in an attempt to bolster
their electoral support.

No political party standing in the elections
is prepared to make a stand against
American support for the corrupt regime
in Turkey which is forcing political
prisoners and their families to die on
Hunger strike.

In conclusion the IRSP representative
said;
The IRSP are not an abstentionist party,
this is the first election in decades that we
have called for a spoilt vote and we do so
with regret but the options open to voters
are very clear , either they vote for
continued sectarianism, criminalisation
and support for American imperialism or
they use their vote as a protest against
the above injustices.
