All,
I am trying to write a play at the moment about the relationship between a citizen army man and a volunteer, and between their families during the 1916 rising. I want this done well so I am trying to get some research done on working class life in Dublin in 1916, the average weekly wage the work of a cooper etc. I am conscious of the fact I don't come from a working class Dublin background, so any attempt by me to just write this from my head would become pointless and patronising. If anyone here can help please email me ASAP.
