Mickey, I don't think in terms of the working class as I clearly consider myself
part of It. The point I was making to your comrade is that in order for the
working class to become a class for itself, then grassroots issues and politcs
will have to be developed. Note I say grassroots, that doesn't mean any Individual
is stupid because I believe trying to raise the Imperialist struggle or Cuba
would be a long way down the priorities of most working class communites up
and down the councties.
But let us be clear about Cuba. The revolution was lead by the middle classes
who when it suited them chose to support or denounce their fellow revolutionarys
(like China) to suite their own needs. Still back to the issue in hand. Theories
can be tested in various ways, this disscussion can be tested by going into
the working class communites and puting to the test what is more relvant, Imperialism,
Cuba and the revolution, or grassroots issues, like privatisation of housing,local
representation,services being run down. I know what I would rather go on the
streets and argue for, how about you? Still its good to have some debate on
the issue. Over to you.
