Hi, back from me hols. Still wound up about Niall's reply to my comrade Paul's
last, last published on your site that is, contribution.
Whasup Niall? surely you cannae be saying that the working class is to stupid
to understand, learn or be interested about Cuba, imperialism or revolutionary
politics. Let us be serious now, the aim of revolution is surely to fight for
the majority, the working class to become the ruling class. Now between chapping
on doors punting Das Capital and letting it be known that we are working class
and fecking well `ard there has to be a way of organising politically that sets
out to fight for the immediate material needs of the class for: decent housing,
better wages, defence against racist attacks etc and points out how socialism
is neccessary to finally achieve a better society. Yes, we can all learn to
say and do things better but the words you so derisively mock actually do represent
the accumulated experience of millions of our sisters and brothers. However
much you may not like it, and I can't really understand why anyone would not,
Cuba did defeat imperialism and the "communists" in Cuba have delivered the
goods in the most adverse circumstances. When I was involved in the campaign
to stop the Labour Council from closing our daughter's secondary school I was
able to point out that in Cuba they had not closed a single school, old folks
home, community centre or hospital ward. No one mocked me, or abused me. The
nutters were plainly the bastards who were closing our kid's schools- they deserved
the abuse they got from hundreds of working class people around this area. So
lets treat those people with respect then, they are as capable as you and I
in learning about what really goes on in this world.
