I heard a sad reality on Radio Ulster the other day it was the utterences of Britains direct ruler in Ireland, Peter Mandelson talking about "normalisation" he stoped short of talking of an acceptable leval of violence in the six counties but never the less we understand the minds behind this policy only to well. On the news that morning and were only talking two days ago by the way, news of the murder of a taxi driver in Belfast, pipe bomb attacks which occured during the night on various targets throughout the occupied north, Strabane town was a no go area due to an early morning "security alert" This is peace I thought to myself. Later that day we heard of further shootings in Belfast, one man killed another seiously wounded in an other incident. Never mind everything else this is the reality.
And let us not forget the continued "criminalisation" of republican prisoners
people in suits in government buildings call them "dissidents" what nonsence
speak that is, I refer of cource to the situation with POW Tommy Crosson and
the punishment he is under as I write for resisting British Imperialism in Ireland,
oh in people will say no Paul your miles of on that one you see we had an all
Ireland vote and the people have decided and the struggle is over and all this
Brit speak which I have no doubt sticks in throats of those roting in cells
today. And we have a situation now where those publications who boasted not
so long ago now of uncensored news on the war in Ireland are holding a silence
on issues such as that of the treatment of prisoners, and these are the forces
which have taken control of the republican movement and their silence is not
because their bad people but rather their to suit their politics.
So what have we to say and do about it all; follow the reformist road through
to Stormont and ties and shirts and suits and everything else - heard it before
I am sorry we must only speak the truth. So come on red action enough of this
nonsence about Sinn Feins peace process when British imperialism is strengthing
its self for the further exploitation of Irish people. Time now for communists
and socialists to take the lead in the debate which should now be underway and
a serious debate at that; how best do we drive British imperialism out of Ireland.
What was it James Connolly said about ruling by fooling being a great British
art.
