Not certain that the following would explain Red Action's position on the IRA etc. However they are excellent books which may help to explain why there is and has been support in working class areas of Ireland for the IRA.

Ten Men Dead-the story of the 1981 Hunger Strike by David Beresford. Published in the States by Atlantic Monthly Press. ISBN 0-87113-702X

Nor Meekly Serve My Time-The H-Block Struggle 1976-1981. Compiled by Brian Campbell. Beyond The Pale Publications ISBN 0-9514229-5-2

Ballymurphy and the Irish War by Ciaran de Baroid Pluto Press ISBN 0-7453-0445-1

Only the Rivers Run Free. Northern Ireland: The Women's War by Eileen Fairweather, Roisin McDonough and Melanie McFadyean Pluto Press ISBN 0-86104-668-4

Skylark sing Your Lonely Song-an anthology of the writings of Bobby Sands Mercier Press ISBN 0-85342-726-7

A Day In the Life Of Bobby Sands Sorry, don't have publisher info to hand

Most of the above are concernad with the most recent period of the war-I;m sure someone else can fill you in with the older stuff. As for getting these books in the US, Ten Men Dead is easily available. The rest-check Amazon or Chapters websites and see if they're available. You can always order them from a smaller bookshop.
