I was interested to read the article online about Tommy Sheridan and Cuba, it seems that much of even the most creative and "go-getting" of the left which I would argue the SSP is amongst, have a political blindspot when it comes to Cuba, maybe because it appears more sexy than Albania or Eric Honneckker in the past.
What is it about the need to have blueprints and models, I was recruited to Militant on the basis of socialism would be like the USSR with some fine tuning etc etc, how I ever fell for it is a mystery to me.
There is an appeal I suppose of something that represents the gut instincts we share although wishful thinking and having anything other than hostility for a brutal, less socially progressive and class ridden state is no way forward.
