Red action members have in the past joined the SSP but within these branches there was no work bieng done for the immediate needs of the working class. When this was approached they were told that the work we had to do was to build the party. Even when we argued by pointing out that this is what the left had done for the last thirty years and had failed, plus we were willing to give examples of where we could embrace local communities and work on issues relevant to them, the same line was peddled. Within the work of the IWCA we are woking with members of the SSP in various campaigns including senior members of the SSP. Currently this is the balance being achieved. How this will play in the future is to be seen.
