LSA Birmingham

Date: 25th April '01

Name: Ciaran Murphy

I was interested to see that the LSA was standing in the area of Brum where I live.
The guy who is standing is someone who lives in the area is a local fire fighter and someone well respected. Great you may think
but when i saw the fly posters and leaflets I was more than somewhat dismayed, all the posters include two large red flags (to symbolise the fire engine and maybe the candidate supports Walsall?) and have such abstract slogans as Save our planet, the only thing local mentioned in the leaflets is anti privatisation campaigns against closure of homes for the elderly, not once does it mention what the people of the area want primarily which if any of them stood in the post office queue, took the kids to school or spoke to their neighbours would know was an end to anti social behaviour, targetting burgulars and muggers an end to dealers dealing by where the kids go to school and that's just on my road, save our planet? I don't know which one they are on, but it aint mine.
