You can dance around with projections taken out of your hip pocket '10% 15% 20%' but the inescapable reality is the overwhelming majority of the working class who make up the overwhelming majority of society do not have routine access to university. No body seriously, (possibly apart from you) argues otherwise. Equally no one has said there are no working class in university, but statistically the percentage who come from manual working class backgrounds is the same as in 1926. That figure alone esposes the real function of universities and who they socially cater for. All that happened when universities 'opened up', was that the middle classes began sending their daughters as well as their sons to them.
